Free-agent center Sam Dalembert will meet with Dallas Mavericks officials on Thursday, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Dalembert, 32, is expected to meet with Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle and owner Mark Cuban at the team’s facility and has emerged as a target for Dallas, sources told Yahoo! Sports.
After passing on making a significant offer to free-agent center Andrew Bynum on Wednesday, the Mavericks have been poised to quickly meet with Dalembert and possibly secure him as a stop-gap center for next season.
Atlanta Hawks restricted free-agent guard Jeff Teague has signed a four-year, $32 million offer sheet with the Milwaukee Bucks, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
The Hawks have three days to match the offer sheet or Teague will rejoin his old Hawks coach, Larry Drew, in Milwaukee.
The Bucks’ move to sign Teague could ultimately be the end of Brandon Jennings’ career with the Bucks. Jennings is a restricted free agent who has found the market relatively uninterested in paying him as one of the NBA’s elite guards.
After reaching an impasse in negotiations with restricted free-agent guard Gerald Henderson, the Charlotte Bobcats are discussing sign-and-trade possibilities with multiple teams, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
The Bobcats and Henderson have remained far apart in extension talks and discussions moved away from a contract and toward a sign-and-trade scenario on Wednesday, league sources said.
Henderson, 25, is one of the NBA’s emerging young shooting guards, but Charlotte has been reluctant to offer him a market value that could push into the $7.5 million to $8.5 million range, front-office sources said.
