NBA CHAT WITH ERIC PINCUS

Welcome to NBA Chat with HOOPSWORLD Senior Writer Eric Pincus.  I've got all the questions I can handle.  Thanks for participating!

Eric covers the L.A. Lakers, Clippers and NBA at large.

Eric P in Naptown:
Eric P my man are the Suns for real or should their fans temper their excitement?
Eric Pincus:

It's that time.  Commence chat.

Eric P from Naptown, I don't know!  I really didn't expect much from Phoenix this year.  They don't have the defense.  They don't have the depth.  Still, it's difficult to deny their torrid start.

I expect the Suns to come back to earth at some point.  I will have to revise my initial estimate which had them outside of the top eight teams in the West.  They've got enough on the roster to close out tight games which most teams can't boast.

Josh in IN uk:
Do you see Travis outlaw making the alstar team with Brandon Roy
Eric Pincus:

I can't see why he would frankly.  Outlaw is a solid player but an All-Star?

Jason in Oxnard,Ca.:
Has a Clipper, Buffalo, San Diego or Los Angeles been a MVP for the season?
Eric Pincus:
Without looking it up, I'm going to say no.  If I'm wrong readers, let me know in the comments.  I'll say I'm sure about San Diego and Los Angeles - I'm not as well versed in my early Buffalo Braves history.
Marcos in Sacramento, Ca:
Do you think Evans can average 18pg,4rpg,4apg this season? What are your early impressions of him?
Eric Pincus:
That's a reasonable projection.  He's raw (read turnover prone) but he's a kid who can fill up the stat sheet.  With Kevin Martin out a stretch, Evans has a chance to gain some valuable experience as the team's primary offensive player.
Marcos in Sacramento, Ca:
Do u think Omir Cassipi is farther along than people projected him at this point? I see him eventually being a version of a less athletic, but taller Kirilenko.
Eric Pincus:
Probably - I'm not sure if a ton of people expected much of anything from Casspi as a rookie but he's shown some nice flashes.  I don't know about the Kirilenko comparison - I'm still waiting for the chance to see him play in person.
CJ in ATL:
Al Harrington or Jamal Crawford for 6th man of the year
Eric Pincus:

So how many wins do the Knicks have?  In the early going I'm going to have to say Crawford.

James in New York:
LeBron to the Lakers seems far-fetched, but what if the Cavs, just because they're tired of the "will he re-sign?" drama, offer the Lakers LeBron straight up for Kobe. Do you do it?
Eric Pincus:
Kobe has a no-trade clause so really, it's moot.
George in I'M FROM NEW YORK! NEW YORK!:
Why is everyone pussyfooting around the LeBron thing? WE ALL KNOW HE'S COMING TO THE BIG APPLE PEOPLE!
Eric Pincus:

Do you have a question?

People - sound off to George in the comments - but let's keep the language clean.

Jason in Orlando, Florida:
How badly do the Cavs play against the Magic tomorrow night? I'm guessing the Magic win by 30, but it won't even be that close for most of the game. Plus, Cavs lose to Heat and barely manage to stay above .500 for the season.
Eric Pincus:
Actually I'll pick the Cavs for this one.  The Magic are too short-handed with injury.
Cory in Aurora, IL:
Right now the division leaders are Celtics, Bulls, Heat, Nuggets, Suns, Mavs. How many of these will still top their division when the season ends?
Eric Pincus:
I'll take Celtics, Nuggets and Mavericks - I see the Cavaliers (even with their struggles), Magic and Lakers taking their respective divisions.
Brian in Indy:
Roy Hibbert has been efficient and dangerous since Troy Murphy has been hurt. Is it time to think about moving Murphy and finally finishing the age transition in Indy? Oh and is Roy a possible MIP if he keeps this up?
Eric Pincus:

Maybe Hibbert will get a vote or two - I'm not sure he'll get enough respect for his improvement out in Indy, unless the Pacers make a solid run to the playoffs.  As far as moving Murphy, the issue has always been about contract.  I'm not sure there's a team willing to take on his near $12 million next season - although a bad K for bad K deal is always possible.

I see Murphy on the Indy roster at season's end.

Nick in LA:
DO you see the bulls geting iverson in a trade with tyrus thomas for iverson being from chicgo i want tyrus thomas out and iverson will really help fill the bords with shooting for bulls
Eric Pincus:
No I don't.
Eric P in Naptown:
What did you think of Tyler Hansbrogh's debut? It looks like he will have a great knack for getting to the free throw line (10 attempts in 14 min)
Eric Pincus:

I picked him up for my fantasy team (as a reserve) before the game was over.

Jeff in Pasadena, CA:
What is the status of Pau Gasol & Andrew Bynum? I heard Bynum is more optimistic about playing this Thursday than Pau.
Eric Pincus:
You heard correctly.  Andrew is close - Pau can't seem to get it together.  That's kind of the nature of a hamstring injury - it's a slow, uneasy recovery.
Fobuless in Daly City, CA:
What is up with the clippers? I thought the culture has changed. When is Blake coming back? What is the time table for EG?
Eric Pincus:

Dunleavy told me last night that Gordon's MRI/CT Scan was clean but that he's more than day-to-day.  There's no timeline yet - could be a week or even two.  Griffin was expected to miss about five weeks of the regular season, give-or-take.  We're on week three.

I also asked that of the Clipper coach and he indicated it's all up to the MRI.  If the bone has healed - he's good to go.  If not, he can't play til it's 100%.

The Clippers were awful last night.  So far this year Gordon is the only guard who can consistently light it up - without him the Hornets were able to just sag on Chris Kaman.  Ugly performance.

LJ in LA:
Eric, do you see Phil Jackson continuing to coach the Lakers for a few more years? Barring some unforseen health issue, I just don't see him walking away.
Eric Pincus:
I agree.  It's all about health with Phil - if he's up to the challenge physically, I see him extending beyond his current contract.
Eric P in Naptown:
So Eric if your coach Dunleavy what was your morning speech at practice? That was beyond embarrassing last night!! Although Naptowns finest (Eric Gordon) didn't play
Eric Pincus:
The Clippers need to find a way to open up the floor without Gordon - until someone can hit an outside shot (other than Rasual Butler on occasion) - LA has a real problem.
brian in NYC:
why dont the knicks sign szerbiack!?!
Eric Pincus:
I'm not sure why they would.
David in San Antonio:
Whhhooooeeee!! What did you think of Ginobili and rj and Hills game last night?!!!
Eric Pincus:
Impressive win for the Spurs without Tim Duncan and Tony Parker.  The bigger concern is Duncan's long-term health.  At full strength San Antonio is always a contender.
Erika in Long Beach, CA:
Hi Eric. Would the Lakers be interested in bringing in A.I. via trade with Memphis? Thanks.
Eric Pincus:
I haven't asked anyone about that - but my instant reaction would be - no.  The Lakers need to improve defensively at the one - not add a guy deficient in that area who also needs the ball to be effective.
Shaq in Cleveland,Ohio:
Whats going on Eric? im the most dominant center in the game right now and yet my team is strugglin!! if we are only 6 games over 500 by the 25 game mark do you see me getting dealt?
Eric Pincus:
Used to be the most dominant.  Shaq is still formidable.  I expect better things from the Cavs as the season progresses.
Dirk Nowitski in Dallas,Texas:
Now I dont want to get to carried away...but have you seen my teams recent play!?!?!? I think we have a good chance at getting homecourt and being in the wcf!!
Eric Pincus:
I agree.
Jerry in San Antonio,Texas:
Do you think we can trade manu ginobili and a costco pack of diet coke for eddy curry and wilson chandler? wilson is a young amazing player with marion potential and curry is another big man thats young and quick
Eric Pincus:
I don't believe the Spurs are going to tear apart their core.  I expect the Manu Ginobili question to be addressed once he's a free agent this summer - not through midseason trade.
matt in irvine:
Bob McAdoo as a Buffalo Braves was an MVP.
Eric Pincus:
I had a feeling there might have been a Buffalo MVP - what year Matt?  I'll have to look it up once the chat is done.
Ralph in La Quinta:
Bob McAdoo NBA MVP with Buffalo Braves 1975
Eric Pincus:
Aha - thanks Ralph!
Jessie The Body in Twin Cities:
Kahn doesn't seem to be a big fan of Corey Brewer saying if he doesn't improve his shooting he won't play. Do you see him being gone soon?
Eric Pincus:

I actually had a chance to talk with Kahn when they gave Brewer the extra year.  His comments weren't an indictment of Corey - but rather a map of what he Brewer needs to do to be successful in this league.  The Wolves love so much of what he can do but if he doesn't discover some sort of jump shot, it'll be hard for Corey to reach his potential.

Kahn - and Coach Kurt Rambis - both spoke very highly of Brewer.

Cain in New Zealand:
Who write the NBA All-Star ballot? Were you surprised not to see Gordon or Kaman on there?
Eric Pincus:

I know that the ballots are drawn up before November.  The two best Clippers (thus far) in Gordon and Kaman aren't included - while Blake Griffin who hasn't even played a minute of regulation made the list.

As the saying goes - it is what it is.

Channing Frye in Arizona:
so mr.pincus are you impressed with my play? you and your boys all doubted me and said i wouldn't have much of a impact, but look at me now!! Nate Mcmillans system was slow and brutal!!
Eric Pincus:
Yes, I'm impressed by Frye's play.  Some of that is the influence of Steve Nash and Alvin Gentry - but credit to Frye for knocking down shots.
Hiding in my bedroom:
How do you think the Celtics are doing so far this season? Was the Rondo extension a good choice? And do you see them making a moves?
Eric Pincus:
For the short-term, yes.  They need a focused Rondo to make it all work.  Down the road when the veterans like Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and even Rasheed Wallace are gone, the Celtics will have a pretty hefty bill for Rondo.  As far as moves, I'm not expecting any yet.  Teams that hardly ever lose aren't as likely to make a deal - unless something lands in their laps.
Cain in New Zealand:
When you vote for All-Star teams do you vote for your favorites or who you think deserves to be there?
Eric Pincus:

I try to vote objectively but ultimately it turns into a popularity contest.  For the record, I'll submit just one ballot.

CJ in ATL:
All star ballot is up who r u voting for.
Eric Pincus:

I'm not going to give you my votes - but I can guess what the fan selections will be:

In the West: Kobe, Paul, Duncan, Amar'e and Melo - although Dirk and Pau Gasol are possibilities.

In the East: LeBron, Howard, Bosh, Wade and . . . um . . . Rondo?  Johnson?  It can be a popularity contest - would Vince Carter be the favorite?  Derrick Rose? (Oops - left out Gilbert Arenas as another option - thx Michael J).

That second guard in the East is a tough call.

brendan in tempe,az:
will pau and bynum be back for thursdays game?? if not im calling it 115-104 suns!!
Eric Pincus:
Word is Bynum = yes; Gasol = no.  Was your prediction specific to no Drew and no /Pau = Phoenix win - what of just one returning?
Ronni in Las Vegas,Neveda:
With the hornets struggling alittle, do you think they could Stephen jackson for Peja Stojakovic? Jackson is a legit 2 guard and paul is a good play maker, and they also got a real good sf in posey and wright
Eric Pincus:

The Hornets have been very cost conscious.  I'm not sure they add a player like Jackson who is expensive, over-30 and somewhat of a chemistry risk.  On the other hand, New Orleans could really use the upgrade.  Good question.

Ali haji abdullah Mckey in Syria:
In syria we watch the knicks...Do you think they have a chance at getting any good players this sumer? Lebron such a gamble and tease...So do you think adding Dirk and Joe johnson would make them good again?
Eric Pincus:
I believe the Knicks will get someone - I'm not sure who - and I wouldn't count on LeBron.  Then again I wouldn't count him out.  I'm with everyone else - looking forward to seeing exactly how it all unfolds.
Andre Miller in Portland,Or:
Whats up Eric!!? we had some good times when i was a clip..anyways what do u think of my recent play in Portland? im starting to enjoy running the fast break with Lamarcus
Eric Pincus:

Dre Miller had a brutal year as a Clipper.  That was probably the second-ugliest year to the last one - in my experience anyway.

Andre may find his way in Portland.  Starting him was a bold move.  I'm still not sold it will all work out - the chemistry doesn't look there yet - but it may be on its way.

Eric P in Naptown:
Baron is no longer Baron (not sure if its age/injuries or mental. Whats the future at PG look like for the Clippers? Should they try and move him before the trade deadline?
Eric Pincus:

Baron is better than he was last year but still not what the Clippers thought they were getting when they gave him a $65 million contract.  It's too soon to predict where they go at the deadline.  If they can hover around .500 when Griffin and Gordon are back 100% healthy - the Clippers may be able to contend for a playoff spot.

Nath in UK:
What's happened to Brandon Roy and Hedo? Their numbers are falling.
Eric Pincus:
Hedo is in a brand new situation on a completely different team.  Roy is also adjusting to a new situation.  I haven't seen enough of the Blazers yet to put my finger on it - but my guess would be the Blazers MUST find a way to play without Brandon dominating the ball.  Once the playoffs come, he's going to be the primary focus of the opposition's defense.  Working in a veteran point guard like Andre Miller may disrupt chemistry at first - but if the Blazers can get it together - they should be more playoff ready.
max in LA:
Of Rahseed,Jefferson,Artest,Shaq,Hedo. who in your opinion is fitting in the best?
Eric Pincus:
Rasheed then Artest.
Kurt Rambis in We Run the Triangle:
I want the Other Sasha, Farmar, and Morrison.
Eric Pincus:

Ha.

Nick in Orlando, Florida:
Kobe's unstoppableness has become more unstoppable. Lakers 09-10 champs, only question, you agree? Don't give me that "there are other contenders", just the straight truth, Eric!
Eric Pincus:

I see the Lakers playing the Celtics in the NBA Finals - not that it'll be easy for either squad to get there.  If they can both stay healthy - that'd be a fantastic series.

Eric P in Naptown:
Eric, wasn't Ricky Davis supposed to provide some outside scoring?
Eric Pincus:

Yes he was.

Bnard in New York:
Hey wassap big E - can a possible 3 way/team trade be made involving Eddy Curry , Jeffries and Stephen Jackson? so we can clear up some more cap space. or is it impossible?
Eric Pincus:
I don't see anyone wanting Eddy Curry.  He hasn't played in quite awhile.
Keith in Las Vegas:
How long do you think the Bucks can maintain this early defensive intensity. The Bradley Center has been rocking so far thanks to Boguts squad 6!
Eric Pincus:
Frankly every year the Bucks exceed my expectations - until injuries do them in.  If Milwaukee can stay somewhat healthy - even without Michael Redd 100% - they may end up floating at the playoff bubble until the bitter end.
Jake in London:
If Phil Jackson steps down after this season, any chance Byron Scott gets in??
Eric Pincus:
Perhaps - he's obviously got the Laker history.  I don't see Phil stepping down - and I would expect LA to stick with triangle friendly guys (Brian Shaw, etc) if something unexpected happened with Jackson.
Ron Harper JR in st paul Minn:
Can Corey Brewer play PG in the triangle?
Eric Pincus:

He can play some point forward - but again, he's got to add a jump shot to keep defenses honest.  He's probably not the guy you lineup defensively against opposing point guards - at least on a regular basis.

eric in nor cal:
Besides a Jackson trade (obvious) and Cohan selling the team (not gonna happen), what can the Warriors do in the foreseeable future to fix the mess?
Eric Pincus:
I'm not sure if Coach Don Nelson is the right fit anymore.  He's a Hall-of-Fame coach but the Warriors have been progressively getting worse since their stellar playoff run.
PopcornMachine in Old and Bitter California:
Are the Suns a good team for me to cheer for? I can never cheer for the Lakers with Artest and Kobe on the team.
Eric Pincus:

Pop, you've got to root for whoever inspires you.  If that's not the Lakers - then find some passion elsewhere.  The Suns are a good underdog story.

Typically non-Laker fans in LA at some point end up Clipper fans.

Laker Fan in LA:
Any real chance of LeBron coming to LA? Does LA have an interest (giving up the likes of Bynum, Odom, etc.) in exchange?
Eric Pincus:

I'm getting this question a lot lately.  As I mentioned last week, it would take a major play by LeBron himself to force a deal to Los Angeles - perhaps at the threat (next July) of signing with a team like the Knicks, Nets or HEAT without Cleveland getting any compensation in return.

That'd be a pretty bold move by LBJ, we'll have to wait and see if he has it in him.  If he doesn't, then no - I don't think the Lakers have much luck in that area.

As far as do the Lakers or any of the 30 teams have interest in LeBron?  The answer is yes.

Mike Wilbon in D.C.:
the Wizards to become sellers by the middle of December?
Eric Pincus:
The Wizards are still one of the mysteries of the NBA.  I hear Antawn Jamison is close to a return.  Let's see what they look like healthy.
Eric P in Naptown:
Very hypothetical but if Cleveland gets word that LeBron will bolt after this year, is it inconceivable the Cavs attempt to work out a sign and trade? Same with Bosh in Miami and Toronto in Miami
Eric Pincus:
What I said about LeBron = same with Bosh.  Sign and trade is a last resort for the Cavs and Raptors.  They simply don't put that on the table.  It's up to the player to try and force it - make their respective teams call their bluff.
nate in in Texes:
would trading a. morrison and farmar for s.jackson a bad idea. I just see the bench being unstoppable if they do this. the kobe/jax beef would be over once he arrived in LA
Eric Pincus:
I see long term money as the issue in LA.  Adding Jackson - while risky to bring in another combustible personality to the Ron Artest mix - would actually be a good fit on the floor.  Financially I don't see it.  Also - the Warriors have like 18 point guards on the roster - do they seek out Farmar and look to deal with the Lakers?
jayrad in TO:
Is Bosh a Max Contract player? His numbers have never quite been at that level. If the Raps don't make the play-offs do they even want to throw that kind of money at him?
Eric Pincus:

He's worth about the maximum - that's just the going rate for a guy like Bosh.  For a team to really succeed, they need two or three franchise players.  Bosh hasn't gotten that support yet in Toronto.  I expect the Raptors to do their best to keep him - regardless of whether or not they make the playoffs this year.

Lindsay Lohan in Hollywood Hills California:
Is the Lakers bench thinner than me?
Eric Pincus:
Once healthy, the Laker bench is good - not great.  Currently they've gotten much better play out of DJ Mbenga and Josh Powell than I expected.  Over time - that's going to diminish if they don't get their bigs back.  As I mentioned - Bynum appears to be green lit for Thursday.  Gasol is still a mystery.
David die hard Clipper fan in Corona ca:
My question is with Gordon out maybe start novak at small forward so you have 2 shooters so kaman can get his spaceing the only better shooter is Ray allen than novak ?
Eric Pincus:
Gordon is one of LA's best defender - on the perimeter he's their best.  I'm not sure replacing him with arguably the team's worst defender is the answer.  Novak can shoot though . . .
Mike in L.A:
How can Alex Raskin claimed that LeBron James is better than Kobe except scoring? Kobe has more skill, a better defender, better leader and etc than LeBron.
Eric Pincus:
It's all subjective, no?
Scott in Santa Barbara, CA:
The Clips still happy with where they stand on not making a move for a wing player while holding out hope for 2010?
Eric Pincus:
The Clipper still have some trade assets to work with.  Let's not jump to conclusions just yet.
DUBBBBZ in TDOT:
fantasy question: should i trade luol deng because his fantasy value is so high right now? hes averaging 16 and 10 and i doubt he'll finish off the season with those numbers. whats your input?
Eric Pincus:
I have Deng on one of my fantasy teams.
Shane in Redwood City, CA:
Thoughts on Miami's good start? They are one of the few teams not making major changes in offseason, leading to some continuity most teams don't have.
Eric Pincus:
I'm impressed - but can Jermaine O'Neal keep it up long term?
SUPAKOOLGREGS in :
Do you see the Clips moving Camby at any point or Kaman although if Cavman keeps it up and stays healthy they would be crazy to let him go
Eric Pincus:

Obviously they can't move either until Griffin is back and comfortably in the rotation.  I can't see the team moving Kaman - where are they going to get a better center?  I wouldn't be shocked if the Clippers entertained a trade for a wing player at some point before the season is over - but a lot will be determined by their record in a few weeks when Griffin nears a return.

PDX in Portland, Oregon:
What do the Nuggets have over the Blazers that make them the pick to win the division? Do you see the Blazers as the future of that division?
Eric Pincus:
The Nuggets are proven together.  The Blazers are still developing.  I see Portland as continually climbing - but at this point I'm high on Denver.  Of course that assumes a healthy Kenyon Martin - the Nuggets are a poor defensive team without him.
Jason in Cleveland:
As an LBJ fan I'm begining to wonder if some critics are right in pointing out that he holds onto the ball too long each possession. Guys who have normally moved without the ball (Moon/Parker), now just stand there as though they're waiting.
Eric Pincus:

Wow!  I really got inundated with questions today.  I left a lot unanswered - my apologies.  If I missed yours, I'm always available via e-mail at epincus@hoopsworld.com, on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/EricPincus, or back here to chat again next week.

Also, Clipper fans - send me your questions for my weekly Clipper Mailbag over at www.clippers.com.  Send me the question via e-mail with your first name and city.

Jason - Remember Michael Jordan wasn't winning titles early in his career.  It wasn't until he was comfortable trusting his teammates within the triangle offense.

James is a great passer but how predictable are the Cavaliers in end-game situations?  That's a team that really needs an offensive philosophy that to date doesn't seem to maximize the talent around LeBron.

Right now they're adjusting to significant changes - they'll be better than they've been so far.  But can they get past the Orlando Magic or Boston Celtics?

Maybe not . . .

My boy tmac will play will in 50 games...but the smart move for the rockets is to offer tmac to the cavs at around the 25 game mark and bring in shaq to help thier front court...im sure tmac and lebron will find a work together and dominate

Can someone tell these moronic, self-important New Yorkers to put a sock in it. Lebron is NOT going to play for a crappy New York team, for a coach that doesn't preach defense, when he knows you have to defend to win titles. Get over it and quit with the idiocy.

Bnard - agreed - but I don't get the chance to go over each HW chat like I'd like to - not at this point in the day. TonyENJ - early going Kaman should be an All-Star but in a month or two? We'll see if he can keep up the pace. I'm not sold on McGrady as a contributor this year - we'll see. PDX - I answer the questions asked!

If lebron is smart he will stay in Cleveland, most money, and they already are getting far in the playoffs. If he leaves, I would like to see him go to the Bulls. But as long as he doesnt come to the west I'm happy!

Oregon fans dont know how to control themselves...as soon as any of your teams get close to winning anything big you get all arrogant and make fools of your selves...look at the usc game, sure u of o won, but then u guys lost to stanford...Plus u guys cant win at the rose quarter for ever against us..we have won 12 titles and made more finals trips and wcf trips then your sorry ass team ever has

@LakerFan4500 "Oregon fans dont know how to control themselves" and LA fans do? "ok at the usc game, sure u of o won, but then u guys lost to stanford" yes and USC lost to Washington. I think most people would say losing to Stanford is more respectable. Dont try blaming it on injuries cause UO had those to, including their all american corner. Look i will agree with you that the Lakers will beat out the Blazers this yea, but we are the future. Kobe cant stay on your team forever. And to see you guys would sweep us, when they do terrible in Portland is pretty unrealistic!

USC is better first off, and losing to washington is way better then losing to snotty smart kids in stanford..and 2ndly kobe is only 30, and in great shape he could probally dominate and do well till he is 35...same goes for ron, he can have a bruce bowen type effect in his 30's....Kobe is very similar to michael jordan, and he will win titles until roy and aldridge are outta thier prime...so live with it pdx..LAKERS ARE BETTER THEN YOUR BLAZERS AND CAVS AND CELTICS!!!!

only problem with Oregon sports is that they do not get enough National recognition. One loss to Standford and USC is ranked above them again. Even though if Oregon had won out the rest of the season there is no way Boise State would get jumped. As for all you Blazer haters, look, you cant deny how deep we are, the talent we got (LMA, Brandon Roy etc), and how young we are. Unlike the contenders now, we have many years to come where we can contend

@LakerFan4500 you sir are living a dream. To say that UO is worse then USC after the brutal beating they received is ridiculous, no matter what that crazy BCS system says. Hell you guys almost lost to an unranked OSU (ranked 23rd now) team.

as i said, kobe is 30, Ron is 29....your team has roy 25, LA 24, Miller 33....when our run ends, and our titles continue to come, kobe will be 35 and ron 34...Roy will be 30, LA wil be 29, miller will be 38, they will outta thier primes and be over with

It sounds silly when fans argue using terms like "we" and "you" when talking about their sports teams. I'm pretty sure "he" had as little to do with "his" team winning as you did about "your" team losing. Look at yourselves. Your bickering about a college football game like your participating. It's rediculous!!! I bet neither of you get this wound up about anything that actually effects your own life. Think about it. Get help.

@ Note do you just troll online sports chats and try and make fun of people? as for the "we" and "you" thing, your taking it a little far. Its just easier to say "we" and "you", and this is the internet not a formal essay where grammar is of true importance. Who says were wound up? were just arguing. Thats what sports fans do! if you dont like debate and talking about sports get out of here!

Do not bring up LaMarcus. That dude is sooo overrated. Portland will be sorry for signing him long term. Cmon now Blake is your starter? I'd rather have Fisher. Blazers arent as talented as we all thought. BRoy is the man but the Lakers 4th best player (Artest) is greater than any current Blazer not named Roy.

I agree with PDX...Note you can just suck it...cause I bet your a low life grizzly fan, and you just hate it when people from differnt cities with better teams argue....get a life note, ur grizzlies will never get close to portland potential, and its a pipe dream to think ur griz will be my lakers!!!

I don't believe Jerry is really from San Antonio. No way would any Spurs fan want to trade Manu Ginobili - the guy who just carried the spurs last night - for fat Eddy Curry (and his horrible contract) and Wilson Chandler.

"I play for USC." Well I'm Barrack Obama! Who else do we have in here? Is MJ or Kobe chatting today? Hilarious. What a loser.

@ T-Wack are you kidding me? first of all have you looked at LMA stats, and what he is doing this year? Also, lakers fans...get off the miller thing..he is a temporary fix. We needed his veteran leadership, and his ability while Bayless develops. As for talent, we have Bayless, look at his PER if you don't believe, this man produces when he gets time. We drafted Patty Mills, who scored 20 points on Team USA, we have Rudy Fernandez, who most people agree could start on most (not all, obviously the lakers don't need him) teams in the NBA. We have Oden who is developing nicely, we have pryz, whose one of the best off the bench Centers in the league. Dont try and tell me " Blazers aren't as talented as we all thought"...if your thinking that cause of the slow start, just look at Hollingers comments, or our record last year at this time!

Have to agree with stopping the nonsense emanating from New York regarding LeBron. New Yorkers are the only ones that actually believe this. I believe I speak for every impartial fan, outside of the Big Apple, when I agree with those who ask, "Why the Hell would LeBron James want to play for that organization." They have been rotten from top to bottom since Patrick Ewing left for Seattle. By the way, the only serviceable players whose contracts extend into next year play the same position. It is not 1972 and the Garden has lost most of the global allurethat it once held. If James leaves my guess is Miami, low taxes, strong management, beaches, and Dwayne Wade.

@ Note, if you followed your team (whoever they are) like the rest of, feel untold excitement when they win, and feel untold heartache when they lose, you would understand why we use the terms "we" when referring to "our" team. We investment so much of our time and emotion into our teams. I bleed Purple and Gold, what about you???

@ Eric Pincus i have asked at least one Blazers question since this started...c'mon give me one man! That question about Channing Frye dont count. Plus hes a flook, he wont be that consistent. In 2 years no one will care what happened to him

Why not trade Sashas contract for AI then just wave his contract. It'll save luxury tax for next yr. Artest/BRown can play the 2

Come on, KB, why on earth would the Grizzlies make a trade of Sasha for Allen Iverson? There's no reason in the world for them to take on Sasha's $10+ million dollar contract in exchange for the $3.5 due Allen Iverson. Let's keep it in the realm of reality.

PDX, do you honestly think it's all about the scoring numbers from Portland's younger players? Portland has enough offense. Bayless is NOT the answer at PG because he's really a short 2 guard. He looks to score versus truly running a team and getting other guys involved. That's why he's not off the bench and why they had to land a veteran PG instead of letting Blake run it with Bayless backing him up. No one else you currently have on that team beside Miller is a true PG. All you're doing is pointing out scoring. That's simply the wrong answer.

Eric, do you think the Lakers are good? Do you think the Clippers are cursed? Can the Lakers get Lebron for Sasha/Morrison and Farmar? Do you think Kobe got rid of Shaq? Come on -- I bet your know the REAL story. Will Kobe ever make his teammates better? Do you think Sasha will get to play this year? Do you think Maria Sharapova is hot? Does Stu Lantz talk too much? Is Jordan Farmar our point guard of the future? Would you rather have Artest or Ariza? Do you think Lamar will stay married to Khloe? Is Charles Barkley the best analyst ever? Is Phil Jackson overrated? I have so many more original questions but you probably are afraid to answer them.
posted by Eric, 11/10/2009 10:49:46 PM
yes i think she is hot...Lebron isnt getting traded for scraps he is more likely to be traded for larry hughes then those guys and that would even happen....Kobe was getting away with alot of the teams misfortunes, and Shaq got alot of the blame, causing Shaq and Kobe to have a dispute as Shaq felt that he shouldn't be a scape goat for the teams issues....Chuck is decent, not great, but he speaks the truth and doesn't sugar code things...At this point I prefer Trevor, he is a more versatile scorer and team player...and Phil Jackson is no where close to being overrated....Phil has a system that works for teams with good talent...Other coaches have had good talent around them and have struggled to get them far...Don Nelson in Dallas, Mike Dunleavy and Maurice Cheeks in Portland, Jerry Sloan in Utah, Mike Dunleavy with the Lakers...Phils system goes well with a team with a great guard...Teams such as Portland,Utah,Denver, San Antonio, and chicago who either have a good 2 guard or point guard, would thrive under Phil..He gets his players trust and respect, and anytime you have Michael Jordans blessings you know your team will listen to you...As I said before No other coach has been able to get the most out of his players like Phil...Go Lakers and Clippers and have a good night
