Despite reports, the Charlotte Bobcats may not be interested in acquiring forward Stephen Jackson after all. While it was rumored that trade talks had gotten serious between Charlotte and the Golden State Warriors, a source with knowledge of the situation tells HOOPSWORLD that a trade isn't going to happen.

"There's nothing there. It's not going down," says the source. "Stephen Jackson won't be a Bobcat."

While it was reported earlier this week that Charlotte was heavily pursuing the forward, the team's interest may have been exaggerated.

"One call was made. Outside of that one call, [acquiring Jackson] wasn't even considered," says the source. "The media takes something and runs with it. That happens often."

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Denver Nuggets are two other teams that have reportedly shown interest in the nine-year veteran. Through four games with the Warriors, Jackson is averaging 16.8 points, 3.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds.

"One call was made" So they made the call but they "Aren't Pursuing Stephen Jackson". More like they offered crap and got rejected, and that was that. I'd change the title of the article to "Bobcats No Longer Pursuing Stephen Jackson"

@Toolate... I have no issue with you being the voice of dissension... Argue the facts, but I am not gonna let commentary like "you joke" fly... as I have said many times, you take personal shots at us - its gonna get deleted... you want to argue the facts of something I am all for that... don't agree with the conversation Alex had today, make your case.

@Steve I'm not the voice of dissention. I have no problem with what you reported. But obviously someone who is too cowardly to use their own identity is. I've been in and around this site for more than 10 years using the same name. Looks like whoever this guy is wins. I'll start posting under another name just know that from now on Toolatecrew is the imposter who loves to be an AHOLE. Lets see if he'll keep it up when he can't hide anymore. My guess is that he trolls under some other name. Its sad but it is what it is.

we're working on this issue... when we built the "Comment" feature we debated long and hard on using a registration system... we decided that we would not get as many people participating if they had to register, we wanted it to be easy to drop in your thoughts and did not give enough consideration to the lengths some would go to be hateful and negative... that said its not an easy fix, nor is it an inexpensive one... a solution is being worked on, but its not close yet.

Steve, record the IP for each really negative incident and after 3 strikes ban that IP address along with making a note of the screen name that was used. This will then force the "alleged" impostor to change their IP...which should take some time if they're not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Good luck.

The tool does not work that way... it has to be rebuilt... this was not an issue we saw as probable when we had the tools built... so it requires totally rebuilding the tool and frankly in this economy we have to be smart about every dollar we spend.

Just a suggestion, not sure what it takes, but since you are working on a sign-in system could you possibly make signing in optional? A sign-in or comment button, so not required, but restricts the use of the registered sign-ons, so the commenters can't use them.
