Rick Adelman is returning to Minneapolis on Tuesday to meet with Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, ESPN.com reported.

Adelman met last week with Wolves general manager David Kahn but did not meet with Taylor. Minnesota is the only NBA team currently without a head coach.

According to the report, other candidates have not been informed they are no longer being considered. Those candidates include Sam Mitchell, a long-time Wolves player who won Coach of the Year honors with Toronto in 2007.

Adelman has a 945-616 record with Portland, Golden State, Sacramento and Houston. He has had just two losing seasons – both with Golden State – and reached the NBA Finals twice with Portland.

The Wolves fired Kurt Rambis after two seasons of at least 65 losses.
