Agent: Bobcats F Diaw has buyout
Charlotte Bobcats forward Boris Diaw has reached an agreement on a contract buyout that will allow him to sign with another team, according to his agent.Doug Neustadt said his client is leaving Charlotte and wants to join a playoff contender. Diaw is in the final year of his contract and is owed roughly $2 million by the Bobcats. The 29-year-old has played only twice in the last eight games and isn’t on good terms with head coach Paul Silas. Diaw previously started a franchise-record 258 games prior to being benched by Silas on March 6.”I like a player who is really committed to not only the team but to himself and then doing the best he can as a player,” Silas said earlier this month when asked about Diaw’s reduced playing time. “Some of the things that would go on, like not shooting the ball, passing all of the time, that doesn’t help us,” A formal announcement from the team is expected Wednesday.
