Amar’e donated oversized Ware heads

Thanks to NBA star Amar’e Stoudemire, Kevin Ware will be at the Final Four 1,000 times over for Louisville’s game against Wichita State.
The New York Knicks forward donated 1,000 oversized Ware heads that will be given away to the student section before Saturday’s night game. It’s a show of support for the injured Cardinal guard, who fractured his leg in the team’s Elite Eight win over Duke.
Darren Rovell explains that Stoudemire got involved after the founder of Build-A-Head, a company that makes those gigantic heads you see in the stands at most college basketball, began seeking donations from NBA players who had written Ware on Twitter. Stoudemire’s foundation agreed to donate $2,500 for the signs.
Louisville’s yearly basketball profit has been estimated as high as $28 million. Good thing the founder of a start-up had to solicit rich NBA players for donations or else they’d have never been able to afford that steep $2,500 price tag.
It’s a lovely gesture from Stoudemire, who has no direct affiliation with Louisville.
