Free agent small forward Josh Childress will meet with Brooklyn Nets general manager Billy King and coach Avery Johnson and have a workout with the team Tuesday, a source confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com.

Childress, a six-year NBA veteran who also has played overseas, averaged 2.9 points and 2.8 rebounds in 34 games for Phoenix last season. The source also said that Childress is currently evaluating a couple of different offers.

The Nets are looking for a backup small forward to round out their roster. They currently have 13 players signed to guaranteed contracts and have an agreement in principle with big man Andray Blatche on a one-year/non-guaranteed deal.

If he does sign with the Nets, Childress likely would receive the same type of deal Blatche is going to get.
