Get excited, Philadelphia 76ers fans: Andrew Bynum is playing basketball again.
Granted, it was only at the Pop-A-Shot game at Dave & Buster’s but progress is progress, right? And unlike that time Bynum went bowling, he apparently made it through this game without further injuring his balky knee. Don’t doctors always tell patients that they have to walk before they can crawl.
The picture comes via the Philadelphia sports blog Crossing Broad. Bynum was apparently at D&B playing games with a friend.
He has yet to play a game for the Philadelphia 76ers while he rehabs from a knee injury. Bynum is in the final year of a contract that will pay him $16.8 million this season. He was traded to Philly from the Los Angeles Lakers as part of a four-team deal that involved Dwight Howard.
While most debate around this picture will focus on the issue of Bynum playing a form of basketball while he rehabs, we have a different criticism: Why would an NBA player ever play Pop-A-Shot? If you win: Great, you’re a professional basketball player. Of course you should win. If you lose, that’s humiliation. That girl on Dance, Dance Revolution 3 will never look at you the same again.
There was no word on how Bynum spent his tickets. A comb would have been a fine choice.
