Anthony Davis Injures Left Knee in Loss

New Orleans Hornets rookie forward Anthony Davis had to be helped off the court after suffering a sprained left knee with 5:45 remaining in the fourth quarter during Wednesday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings.
When Davis left the court he could barely put pressure on his left leg as he walked. The injury came when Davis stood his position in the post to draw an offensive foul, but former Hornets guard Marcus Thornton fell hard on Davis’ left knee after colliding into him underneath the basket.
“I think he’s OK, but I don’t want to jump the gun,” Hornets Coach Monty Williams said. ”I didn’t see the play yet, but he said Marcus landed on his knee. He said he’s a little sore.”
