Anthony’s triple-double leads Knicks
Carmelo Anthony posted the second triple-double of his career as host New York inched closer to clinching a playoff berth with a 118-110 victory over Boston on Tuesday.Anthony, who scored 42 points against the Miami Heat on Sunday, had another huge effort dropping a team-high 35 points to go along with 12 rebounds and 10 assists.The Knicks used a potent 3-point attack, receiving big contributions from their bench players to pick up their 10th win in the last 11 games at Madison Square Garden.J.R. Smith and Steve Novak helped New York set an NBA record with 16 3-point field goals off the bench. Smith nailed seven shots from long range, all of them in the first half, and Novak contributed seven 3-pointers. Both bench players finished with 25 points apiecePaul Pierce netted a game-high 43 points for the Celtics, who had the chance to clinch the Atlantic Division with a victory.Rajon Rondo posted his 23rd consecutive double-digit assist game with a 13-point, 13-assist effort.
