Are the Warriors for real?

In Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals, the Golden State Warriors pulled off a reverse of their collapse in the series opener. In a game the San Antonio Spurs controlled for three of the four quarters, the Warriors battled back and out-executed the Spurs down the stretch and into overtime to even the series at two games apiece. This is clearly a team to be respected, but how far can Golden State go?
After Game 3 and through three quarters of Sunday’s game, it looked as though the Warriors had come back down to earth. Andrew Bogut was hampered by foul trouble. Stephen Curry was not as mobile after sustaining yet another ankle injury. His teammates were settling for too many midrange jumpers.
With the series-tying win on Sunday, the semifinals will go at least six games, and the Warriors need only to steal one more at the AT&T Center and win Game 6 at Oracle to advance to the Western Conference Finals.
Even if the Warriors advance, it’s tough to see them winning another seven-game playoff series to reach the Finals. The questions about Curry’s health are lingering. Mark Jackson has continued to play David Lee hurt, and he hasn’t given them much. The consistency of Jarrett Jack, Harrison Barnes and Klay Thompson varies wildly from night to night.
Then again, after their first-round series win over the Nuggets, none of their success seemed sustainable, either. Maybe they can shock the world again.
Two games on the schedule for Monday (all times p.m. Eastern).
