Asik Signs Offer Sheet with Rockets

Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reports that the Rockets have signed C Omer Asik to a three-year, $25.1 million offer sheet as previously agreed to during the moratorium period.

Berger reports that the deal is another “poison pill” contract structured the same way as the Rockets’ offer sheet to Jeremy Lin, in which the third year of the contract will pay Asik $14.9 million, in an effort to convince the Bulls not to match. Berger reports that the offer sheet has been signed by Asik but not delivered to the Bulls as of yet. Once the Bulls receive the offer sheet, they’ll have 48 hours to match.
