Baylor Starting to Put the Pieces Together?
The Bears lost all four regular-season games against Kansas and Missouri, showing the world a little bit about what they’re made of (or perhaps not made of). To say they wilted down the stretch of a couple of those games is an understatement. But the pieces to this puzzle Scott Drew has put together are too substantial-looking for us to say the Bears can’t do anything the Tigers or Jayhawks can do. How many other teams have a twosome with the length and athleticism of Perry Jones III and Quincy Miller, both of whom could be NBA-bound after this season? How many teams have a complementary piece like senior forward Quincy Acy, who’d be the most athletic player on many an NCAA Tournament frontline? How many teams have all that, plus a quickness-and-shooting guard combo like Pierre Jackson and Brady Heslip. Altogether, this is one explosive group. And maybe, just maybe, it grew a lot on Friday night.
