Blazers Come to 2-Year Agreement with Wright
The Portland Trail Blazers reached agreement on a two-year, $6 million deal with free-agent forward Dorell Wright, his agent, Greg Lawrence, told Yahoo! Sports.
The Oklahoma City Thunder had made Wright a priority in free agency, but ultimately Blazers general manager Neil Olshey secured Wright in the late stages of the courtship.
For the Blazers, Wright brings strong perimeter shooting and size to the wing. Wright, who is 6-foot-9, averaged 9.2 points for Philadelphia in the 2012-13 season. He shot 37 percent on 3-pointers. Wright gives a boost to a Blazers bench that needs upgrading this summer. He could conceivably compete for a starting job, too.
