Blazers Likely Holding onto Draft Picks?

There are numerous possibilities. Hold on to those picks. Trade them. Move up in the draft. Move down. Trade one or both in a move to land veterans. Go for the most pressing needs — center and point guard — or take the proverbial “best player available.”
Things can change in the waning hours before the draft, but new general manager Neil Olshey says odds are Portland holds on to its picks. Though enticing prospects at both the post and the point should be available when the Blazers draft, Olshey says his club will take — you got it — the best player available.
“When need and talent meet, then you’ve got your best-case scenario,” Olshey told me Tuesday. “But you don’t use the draft for need; you use it to acquire talent.
