Bobcats Shopping Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Eyeing Otto Porter
The Charlotte Bobcats are reportedly shopping Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, the second overall pick in last year’s NBA Draft, according to Joe Kotoch of SheridanHoops.com. Were this to happen, the Bobcats would then target small forward Otto Porter with the fourth overall selection and move on with him as their small forward of the future rather than Kidd-Gilchrist.
Porter is one of the prettiest girls at the dance so far during the pre-draft process, garnering serious interest from Cleveland, Washington, Phoenix, New Orleans, and now Charlotte, but the problem with trading Kidd-Gilchrist to move on with Porter is that many believe he isn’t likely to slip past the Wizards, who have the third pick in the draft and are not only in dire need of help at the three, but are also enamored with the local product from Georgetown.
Boston, Milwaukee, and Atlanta all are potential suitors for Kidd-Gilchrist, according to the report. All three teams have picks available in the teens, which could be involved in any deal involving one of last year’s most highly-touted prospects.
