The Boston Celtics announced today that they have recalled center Fab Melo from their NBA Development League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, the team sent out on its twitter account.

Melo was at Tuesday’s practice at the team’s facility in Waltham, Mass.

The Celtics lost point guard Rajon Rondo for the season with a torn ACL on Sunday.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers said that “no one’s role will change” with Rondo out.
