Brandon Knight Taking on Leadership Role
Pistons guard Brandon Knight pored over hours of game film from his rookie season, evaluating his crash course introduction to the NBA.
Although Knight found plenty of things he needs to work on to make himself a top-flight lead guard, such as pick-and-roll play, getting stronger and gaining a better feel for the position, his biggest step can’t be quantified in the film room, he said.
Knight wants to become a more vocal player and an effective leader.
With the Pistons having six new players on the roster, Knight feels it’s his responsibility to get everyone integrated to the team’s style of play. He makes sure he’s one of, if not the first player they see in the facility most days.
If Knight can handle the reins, it’ll not only solidify his standing as a leader but also free up Stuckey to be more of an attacker offensively. And with so many rookies, he’ll often be one of the more experienced players on the floor.
