Brandon Roy, who announced his retirement from the NBA last year due to chronic knee problems, is planning to come back next season. The former Portland Trail Blazer announced via Twitter on Friday night that he is preparing to return to the court, HoopsWorld.com reported.

“Lord willing, I will play again soon,” Roy tweeted, using the account of friend and former University of Washington teammate Will Conroy. “Yes, I’m preparing for a comeback. I’m training daily. I’m preparing for a return next year. I appreciate the love. Hopefully I’ll be back on the floor soon. Health is good.”

He said he is “looking to return sooner” than 2014-15, when he could rejoin the Trail Blazers, which means he apparently will be looking to sign with another team.
