Stoudemire’s brother dies in car accident
The brother of New York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire was killed in a car accident early Monday morning.
Stoudemire was en route to Florida to be with his family and will miss Monday’s game against Utah Jazz, a team spokesman confirmed to ESPN New York.
Hazell Stoudemire was driving north on U.S. 27 in Lake Wales, Fla., when he collided with a tractor trailer at 1:45 a.m., according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The 35-year-old Stoudemire was not wearing a seatbelt and was confirmed dead at the scene.
