Now, the Suns are second to the Philadelphia 76ers (who can boast roughly $14.2-15.4 million in cap room).
Before the deal, Milwaukee had about $7.4 million to spend. Now they have about $1.9 million in space after acquiring Butler for Ish Smith and Vyacheslav Kravtsov.
The Houston Rockets have the most players under contract at 19, but only 13 are fully guaranteed. The offseason maximum is 20.
This week, the Memphis Grizzlies and Toronto Raptors both waived players with guaranteed deals (Fab Melo and Quentin Richardson, respectively), trimming the number of players under contract to 436 (392 guaranteed).
At least 23 roster spots are still available throughout the league, but more players will sign as teams load up with training camp invites — most who are destined to be cut before opening night on October 29.
