Bulls’ Noah to sit out Game 4 with ankle injury
The Chicago Bulls ruled out using starting center Joakim Noah for Sunday’s Game 4 of the Eastern Conference first round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau, whose team trails the series 2-1, said Noah’s sprained left ankle was not sufficiently recovered to allow him to play. The team already has lost star guard Derrick Rose for the season with a knee injury.
Center Omer Asik will start in place of Noah, who is day-to-day for the rest of the series, according to Thibodeau.
Noah sustained the ankle injury during the Game 3 loss to the 76ers. Midway through the third quarter he stepped on the foot of the Sixers’ Andre Iguodala.
