C Chandler confirms he’ll sign with Knicks
Free-agent center Tyson Chandler confirmed on Friday that he will sign with the New York Knicks.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed for the 7-foot-1 Chandler.
“It just really happened over the last, like, 48 hours,” Chandler said on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM’s Ben and Skin Show. “I just think the future of the team, being able to play alongside Amare Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony and the young talent we have I feel like puts us in contention over the next four or five years.”
The second overall pick of the 2001 draft, Chandler averaged 10.1 points and 9.4 rebounds during the Dallas Mavericks’ championship run last season.
