Calhoun to return for Connecticut
University of Connecticut basketball coach Jim Calhoun made it official and said he will return for another season.
Calhoun told school president Susan Herbst on Wednesday that he will be back for a 26th season with the Huskies.
The 69-year-old coach guided Connecticut to its third national title in April.
The surprising run to the championship came less than two months after Calhoun was suspended three games and UConn was put on probation for recruiting violations.
Calhoun, a member of the basketball Hall of Fame, has a 855-367 career record at Connecticut and Northeastern.
The seventh college coach to amass 800 wins, he has led the Huskies to a 607-230 record that included four Final Four appearances.
