Carlesimo: Deron ‘too hard on himself’
Deron Williams didn’t mince words after he went 1-for-9 and finished with eight points in Monday’s 90-82 Nets loss to the Bulls in Game 2 of their best-of-7 series, which is now even at a game apiece.
“I didn’t play good,” Williams said afterwards. “I’m not going to play like this again.”
It’s hard to argue with his assessment, but interim coach P.J. Carlesimo, on a conference call with reporters Tuesday afternoon, said that Williams was beating himself up too much over the way he played.
“Deron sets the tone that way. If anything, he’s too hard on himself, but I’d much rather that kind of attitude.”
