The New Jersey Nets have named P.J Carlesimo and Mario Ellie assistant coaches on Avery Johnson’s staff.

Carlesimo has served as head coach of three NBA teams during a 35-year coaching career. He spent last season as an assistant in Toronto.

Ellie enjoyed an 11-year NBA career before transitioning into coaching. He has been an assistant with four clubs, the last two years with Sacramento.

The Nets also announced Thursday that Jeremy Bettle was named strength and conditioning coach.
