NEW YORK — New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony went to the locker room with less than a minute to play in the second quarter to have his left shoulder checked out Sunday.
Anthony, who had 24 points in the first half, was fouled on a three-point attempt by Miami’s Mario Chalmers with 1:10 left in the half.. Anthony fell to the ground and held his left shoulder while trying to rotate it. With 36.1 seconds, Anthony checked out and went to the locker room.
The Knicks said Anthony was hit in the ribs under his left armpit, but he will be fine.
Anthony returned to the court for halftime warmups and started the third quarter.
