In the aftermath of Friday’s horrific 95-74 loss to the lowly Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks forward Vince Carter kept getting peppered with questions concerning the possibility of the Raptors one day retiring his jersey.

“I look at it as an honor to have my jersey retired because it’s an appreciation for the groundwork and the work that I’ve done here in the city,’’ Carter said. “Why would I say no? Why would I decline that?

“That is an honor. That’s something everybody doesn’t get the opportunity to be asked, to be honored, to have the opportunity, so to turn that down is just ridiculous.’’
