Cavaliers C Erden suffers broken thumb

Cleveland Cavaliers center Semih Erden underwent surgery to repair a broken thumb and is expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks.

Erden was injured while playing for Turkish club Besiktas.

The 7-foot Erden averaged 4.0 points and 2.9 rebounds last season in 41 games with Boston and Cleveland.
