Irving out a month with broken finger

Cleveland guard Kyrie Irving, the overall No. 1 pick of the 2011 draft and the Cavaliers’ leading scorer and assist man, is expected to be out four weeks with a hairline/non-displaced fracture of his left index finger.
Irving is averaging 22.9 points, sixth best in the NBA, and 5.6 assists. In his rookie 2011-12 season the 20-year-old averaged 18.5 points and 5.4 assists.
The Cavaliers entering Monday were 2-8 on the young season, 13th in the Eastern Conference and on a six-game losing streak.Their next game is Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Irving was injured in Saturday’s 103-95 home loss to the Dallas Mavericks. He hurt the finger in the third quarter yet still scored a game-high 26 points despite being limited.
