Cavs Sign Donald Sloan as Backup PG
Donald Sloan was signed by the Cavaliers on Friday to fill the roster spot vacated by Ramon Sessions, but the Cavs and Sloan are no strangers.
Sloan competed on the U.S. team that won the bronze medal in last year’s Pan American Games. That team was coached by Cavs assistant Nate Tibbetts.
The Cavs have been high on Sloan all along.
“Even when we brought in Ben (Uzoh) , the consensus was that he [Sloan] was the best one,” (coach Byron) Scott said. “He’s been on the radar for a little while. [Scouts] thought he was a point guard who would fit into what we do, really can penetrate and get into the lanes, can find guys, very good defender. They thought he would be perfect for us.”
