Doug Gottlieb was hired by CBS as a multi-platform personality after the former Notre Dame and Oklahoma State basketball star made a name for himself in broadcasting at ESPN.

Gottlieb will host an afternoon radio show on the newly created CBS Sports Radio when it launches Jan. 2, 2013, while working as a studio and game analyst on CBS Sports coverage of NCAA men’s basketball.

In addition, CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus said Gottlieb will host a show on CBS Sports Network and contribute columns and podcasts to CBSSports.com.

“CBS has among its portfolio the most powerful assets in all of sports and is home to arguably the greatest championship event — the NCAA Tournament,” said Gottlieb in a release issued by CBS. “Thinking about the reach of CBS Sports Radio and the continued growth of CBS Sports Network, coupled with quality online reporting and the overall distinguished reputation of CBS Sports, this was an easy choice to make, and an opportunity I couldn’t resist.”
