Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers has extended his invite to forward Kevin Garnett to return to the team this offseason when the veteran becomes a free agent.“Oh yeah, absolutely. We want him back,” Rivers told reporters. “I think it will come down to if he wants to play or not. But, you know, who knows? So many games and so many things can happen. Being around this as long as I have I know it is very emotional how the season ends. And a lot of players have made poor decisions on the end of a season, so we’ll have to wait and see.”Garnett has played inspired basketball for Boston this season, averaging 15.3 points and 8.3 rebounds while providing fiery leadership and intensity on defense. He’s kept the team afloat in the Eastern Conference, with the Celtics sitting in seventh and chasing Philadelphia for the top spot in the Atlantic Division.
