Boston Celtics veteran forward Paul Pierce isn’t too concerned wih his sprained right ankle, which caused him to miss the remainder of the fourth quarter of Friday’s lopsided loss to the Sacramento Kings.

“It’s a little sore, I just twisted it at the end,” Pierce told ESPN Boston. “It should be fine, though. We’ll see how it goes. It’s sore, but hopefully it won’t swell up on the plane.”

Pierce stepped on the foot of Sacramento’s Marcus Thornton while setting a screen. With the game’s outcome no longer in doubt, Pierce departed to the locker room and did not return.

The 34-year-old Pierce and the Celtics won’t have long to lick their wounds as they play the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.

He is averaging 18.4 points and 5.1 assists this season.
