Celtics F Wilcox to undergo heart surgery
Boston Celtics reserve forward Chris Wilcox will undergo season-ending heart surgery.
Wilcox will undergo surgery at the end of the month to repair an enlarged aorta. The team said the 6-foot-10 forward is expected to resume his career next season.
The 29-year-old Wilcox is the second Boston player to require heart surgery this season. Forward Jeff Green had his season wiped out by an aortic aneurysm.
Wilcox is in his first season with Boston and 10th overall. He is averaging 5.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in 28 games this season.
