Chandler helps Knicks end losing streak
Tyson Chandler led the way with 20 points and 17 rebounds as the New York Knicks overcame a rough performance from Carmelo Anthony and snapped a six-game losing streak with a 111-78 victory over the host Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday.
Amar’e Stoudemire added 18 points and eight boards and Landry Fields scored 18 points for the Knicks, who held the Bobcats to 34 percent shooting in one of their best defensive performances of the season.
Anthony finished with one point and went 0-for-7 from the floor to post the lowest full-game point total of his career. The All-Star forward, who is shooting a career-low 39.6 percent from the floor, helped out with 11 rebounds and four assists.
Anthony was shut out in the first half for just the fifth time in his career and joined Chandler and Stoudemire on the bench for most of the fourth quarter with New York comfortably ahead. None of the three reached 30 minutes of playing time.
