Charles Barkley: LeBron is better than Jordan

Charles Barkley says he had thought he’d “never compare somebody to Michael Jordan.”

But now, he has.

On NBA TV’s Open Court, whose first episode debuts on NBA TV Tuesday (11 p.m. ET), Barkley goes on to say that both Jordan and LeBron James do “everything well.”

But, he says, there’s one key difference: “LeBron James is just bigger, stronger, faster. That’s the only difference.”

Although it does seem like a pretty big difference.

The series features roundtable discussions involving TNT and NBA TV analysts such as Reggie Miller and Shaquille O’Neal. On Tuesday’s taped show, Miller says because James has played on an NBA championship — in Miami last season — he has “that monkey off his back” and “his best basketball is yet to come.”

But, says O’Neal, James now faces new pressure: “Unfortunately for LeBron, now that the monkey is off his back, he is going to be compared to two people – Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.”
