Chauncey Billups Sidelined with Sore Foot
Chauncey Billups will sit out Wednesday night as the Los Angeles Clippers host the Dallas Mavericks with an inflamed tendon in his ankle.
Billups has played in just three games for the Clippers this season, recovering from last year’s Achilles’ tear. The Clippers will likely return to their rotation with Willie Green as the starter in his place.
An MRI revealed swelling in the peroneal tendon, according to Billups. His return will depend on how he feels moving forward. The team is calling the injury a “sore foot.”
The Clippers have started the season 11-6, which puts them in first place in the Pacific Division.
Billups was also recently warned by the NBA for a significant flop against the Utah Jazz. Billups joked that the league is taking away some of the “showmanship” of the game.
