Chicago Bulls Relish Healthy Opportunity
The opportunities often have been fleeting, but when Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau has been able to put his four core players on the court together the mix has been a force in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.
However, it’s been more than a year since that has happened, thanks largely to an knee injury suffered by guard Derrick Rose in the 2012 playoffs.
As the Bulls reconvene for the start of training camp this week, the expectations again will be significant as health and talent combine to give the team a formidable look.
Rose, Carlos Boozer, Luol Deng and Joakim Noah have played together in 90 games over the last three seasons. The Bulls have won 86 percent of them.
“A real key is going to be health and trying to get everybody on the floor,” Bulls general manager Gar Forman said. “That core group has had a nice level of success. Even last year we had some success even though we were banged up and didn’t have Derrick.”
