Chris Wilcox Glad to Be Back
“Man, a big release,” Wilcox said after yesterday’s session. “It felt good, the first day out there. It’s tough because you have to feel out what’s going on, but it felt great to be out there. The back felt good, everything felt good today.”
That release came after approximately three days of isolation while watching everyone else practice and take their early steps in a highly anticipated season.
Wilcox could work on his conditioning, but not much else. It was admittedly a relief that his trouble wasn’t related to his recovery from heart surgery in March. But there is now so much ground to make up, the big forward almost doesn’t know where to begin.
“Every day just working out there on the sidelines and seeing these guys go up and down, I want to be a part of it,” he said. “(Teammates were) out there grinding and getting ready for this year, and I couldn’t be part of it.
