Christmas Return Likely for Knicks’ Camby
Veteran New York Knicks forward Marcus Camby says he will be active for the team’s Christmas Day game against the Los Angeles Lakers after missing the past 12 games due to plantar fascia in his left foot.
Following a workout on Sunday afternoon prior to tipoff against Minnesota, Camby pronounced himself healthy enough to play.
“I just have to get my number called,” he said. “I’ll be available Tuesday.”
The team hopes that Camby’s presence can give center Tyson Chandler, who’s played 35 minutes per game in the Knicks’ last five games, a chance to rest. The Knicks will still be without forward Amar’e Stoudemire and forward Rasheed Wallace is listed as day-to-day with a foot injury according to Knicks Head Coach Mike Woodson.
