Clippers Billups undergoes successful surgery

Los Angeles Clippers guard Chauncey Billups underwent successful surgery to repair a torn left Achilles tendon on Wednesday.The procedure was performed by Dr. Thomas Clanton in Vail, Colorado. Billups is expected to remain in Colorado for the next four weeks before returning to Los Angeles for rehabilitation.The five-time NBA All-Star suffered the injury on Feb. 6 in a game against the Orlando Magic and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.The 35-year-old averaged 14.9 points and four assists in 20 games for the Clippers this season.
