Former NBA player Javaris Crittenton, wanted on a murder charge, was arrested at John Wayne Airport in Southern California on Monday night.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Crittenton surrendered without incident after purchasing a one-way flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles. Earlier Monday, his attorney said Crittenton would return to Atlanta and turn himself in.

In addition to the murder charge, Crittenton was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, the report said.

Crittenton has been charged in the Aug. 19 shooting death of Julian Jones, a 22-year-old mother of four. The former NBA player allegedly fired shots from an SUV that hit Jones, who authorities say likely wasn’t the intended victim.

“It appears Mr. Crittenton observed who he thought was the perpetrator walking down the street.” Atlanta Police Major Keith Meadows told the newspaper. “It so happens Miss Jones was walking down the street at the same time.”

Crittenton played 113 games in the NBA for the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies and Washington Wizards and was one of the players involved in the card game that led to the suspension of Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas for bringing guns to the locker room.
