Curry Favors Extension With Warriors
Stephen Curry spoke at length in the Warriors’ locker room before the game to several of us just hours after word came out that he was officially done for the season.
The shut-down wasn’t a surprising decision, given the right-ankle issues that have plagued him all season, but you could tell Curry wasn’t at all pleased by the situation.
Is Curry thinking he won’t a long-term extension when he’s eligible this fall? Would be OK if he doesn’t get one?
Curry said “it would be great” if an extension happened and “if we both met somewhere” presumably in the middle of what he would’ve asked for if healthy and what the GSWs might be offering an injured player.
But that’s a tough deal to make, and Curry said he’d understand if he goes through next season and ends up as a restricted free-agent in summer 2013.
