Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has apologized for ripping into officials. Kind of.
After the Mavericks lost to Miami 99-96 on Friday, Cuban said the referees were “lucky I wasn’t there”. He was upset about an out-of-bounds call giving the ball to Miami after it appeared to be deflected by the Heat’s Dwyane Wade, calling “misapplication of the rules”.
In the final two minutes, referees are supposed to use replay to review plays like that if there is any uncertainty, but the crew of James Capers, Mark Ayotte and Eric Lewis didn’t do it.
Saturday, he tweeted out to his followers: “Im sorry NBA fans Ive tried for 13 yrs to fix the officiating in this league and I have failed miserably. Any suggestions? I need help?”
Dallas is 13-21 after losing to the New Orleans Hornets 99-96 in overtime on Saturday.
