Lillard breaks rookie record for three-pointers

Damian Lillard already has the Rookie of the Year award all but locked up, but he added some icing onto an outstanding season on Monday. The Portland Trail Blazers point guard drilled his 167th three-pointer of the season against the Utah Jazz, breaking Stephen Curry’s record of 166 set with the Golden State Warriors.
Lillard, the sixth overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft, is shooting 37.3 percent from beyond the arc in his rookie season. Curry shot a much more efficient 43.7 percent when he set the previous mark in 2009-10. Still, Lillard has established himself in his rookie season as a long-range threat with excellent court vision as well.
