Mike D’Antoni, scheduled to debut as Los Angeles Lakers coach tonight, decided before the game he is not ready to return after his recent knee replacement procedure, Lakers spokesperson John Black said Sunday night.

D’Antoni was set to take over from interim Bernie Bickerstaff, who will continue in that role as the Lakers play host to the Houston Rockets tonight.
