Did Bill Self’s crucial error cost Kansas?

Kansas was less than five seconds away from advancing to its third consecutive Elite Eight before Michigan’s Trey Burke nailed the shot of this year’s NCAA tournament.
Instead, the Jayhawks will join fellow outcasts Indiana and Gonzaga as eliminated No.-1 seeded teams.
Self, a title-winning coach, made a questionable late-game decision by choosing not to foul Burke with his team up by three points and seconds winding down on the clock. After the game, Self said that was a mistake. A big one.
“Well, this will go down as one of the toughest games obviously that we’ve been a part of … and I’ve been a part of,” Kansas coach Bill Self said after the game via USA TODAY Sports.
