Diggins lifts Notre Dame past UConn

Skylar Diggins scored 22 points to lift third-ranked Notre Dame to a 74-67 overtime victory over the University of Connecticut on Saturday at South Bend, Ind.

Natalie Novosel added 20 points, including six free throws in OT, to lift Notre Dame (15-1, 3-0 Big East) to its 12th consecutive victory.

Bria Hartley scored a game-high 25 points for Connecticut (12-2, 2-1), which lost to the Fighting Irish in the Final Four last season.

Both teams entered the game with one loss apiece – each coming to top-ranked Baylor.
