Dallas Mavericks All-Star forward Dirk Nowitzki injured his back during warm-ups prior to the Mavs’ loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. He attempted to play, but was only able to log nine minutes before the injury forced him out of the game. He told the media he intends to play on Friday at New Orleans, so the injury does not appear to be a major issue.
